Instructions to unexpire.txt: Sound Forge 6.0 trial reset - by BeautifulJesus =========================== This is not crack, you still need to receive your key from Sonic Foundry by regi stering. The key is calcuated from a computer ID unique to your pc. If you reformat your disc or drastically change your OS you will need a new beta key from Sonic Foun dry. But I am sure the full thing will be out soon :) This is a bit dirty, but saves you a reinstall of the Operating System if the pr ogram expires. Basically the steps are as follows :- Obtain a clean registry key where the trial expiration is held. This can be done in 2 ways 1. The program is still running 2. The program has stopped running Unfortunately, you need to keep your clock before 31st May 2002 to u se the program, but at least you can set it back and forth with no problems usin g this method. If you PC configuration hasn't changed drastically, just click the "lice nce.reg" file (see below) and it should work fine. This saves reauthenticat ion. Step 1 ====== Run regedit in the RUN option and export this key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry Beta\Sound Forge\6.0\License] call it "license.reg" Now, if you program is still running follow these steps else ignore them Step 2 - only if your program is still running ====== Search in the registry without quotes "Sound Forge 6.0 Beta Kernel" Export the key and call it "cleandate.reg". This key is clean (if the program is not expired). You now have two files. If you find the program does expire now, you can double click the "clea ndate.reg" and set the clock before 31st May 2002 or use a progr am such as "date cracker 2000". Step 2 - if the program has expired ====== Run regedit in the RUN option and delete this key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry Beta\Sound Forge\6.0\License] Now uninstall Sound Forge. Set the clock back before 31st May 2002 and reinstall Sound Forge. Double click "license.reg" Run the program, now shut the program. Search in the registry without quotes "Sound Forge 6.0 Beta Kernel" call it "cleandate.reg" This key is now clean (it didn't used to be, but the reinstall refreshed it once deleted), so export it. You now have two files. If you find the program does expire now, you can double click the "clea ndate.reg" and set the clock before 31st May 2002 or use a progr am such as "date cracker 2000".
